The Centre for Environmental Research and Education (CERE) is a Mumbai-based non-profit organization established by Dr. Rashneh N. Pardiwala and Ms. Kitayun Rustom to bring together research, teaching and social work fraternities so as to promote rural and urban environmental sustainability.

CERE believes that wide-spread education and awareness can permanently change consumption patterns from being resource dependent to being environmentally sustainable, affordable and less damaging. Knowledge, practical skills, and habits of mind translate into a civil society that is better able to address its common problems and create lifestyles that are more in tune with the earth.

CERE has successfully completed a number of national and state-level projects and also publishes awareness and educational material including school text books, activity sheets and booklets.
